Ladibug Is Now Live!
Giving the 'feminine care' aisle it's overdue glow up (and what we learnt during the process as two female founders)
After many months of convincing friends and family that we weren’t just pretending to be building something, we finally went live with www.ladibug.co last Wednesday!
The first marketplace for trusted, evidence-backed, female health products and education. We appreciate the nuance of the female hormonal life cycle and understand what the retailers don’t: that women need help purchasing products to suit their body AND they want to see evidence that the product’s actually work.
So here we are 👋 a female founded, medically advised platform - with everything you need - finally in ONE place.
We also thought it would be fun to share what it was like leading up to this process (the good, and the *stress* 😵💫)
We work significantly better with a deadline. It’s very easy to procrastinate and fluff around if you don’t have a hard date to work towards. It sounds super cliche but it’s true: diamonds are made under pressure…and so too was Ladibug.
Someone said to us that if your product is perfect at launch, it means you launched too late. As someone who leans into perfectionism (disguised as a form of procrastination) it challenged me to settle with some features looking pretty mediocre, knowing we would fix them up later.
Launch is very anticlimactic lol. It’s not like we were releasing concert tickets for Dua Lipa. We were launching a product that people have only seen through organic growth on Instagram.
Friends & family are truly your biggest hype girls and you need them. They will be your first customers and will share your business to their stories. We are so grateful for them all and wouldn’t be here without them ❤️
Take a few days off. We felt so guilty doing this but frankly, we were both absolutely exhausted and burnt out - we needed a few days at Rockaway beach or down in Lower East Side having an Aperol.
While we have launched - we have only just started! We have tech. developments in the pipeline, more product categories coming and a never ending inventory of information and education about women’s health. We can’t wait!
